Indigo have the role of Executive Producer in this stunning new short documentary, 'Big Leaf', created by Josh Cobb and Joe Hurrell at Grimshaw Mink. With original music by the Grimshaw Mink team, recorded at the Abbey Road institute, this beautifully shot journey through the Pacific Northwest is due for festival release early 2019.
Exploring man's relationship with the local environment, Big Leaf investigates the problematic past, present and future of maple forestry and its traumatic effect on the wider climate.
We follow Tim McNamara, a young furniture maker, on the verge of fatherhood, as he journeys to a sustainable sawmill in search for responsibly produced materials to build his child's crib. Wary of the world his child will grow up in, Tim seeks the sage wisdom of sawmill owner, Rod Jacobs, who reveals the shocking extent of the big leaf maple crisis and the work that must be done to secure a hopeful future for the next generation.
Currently in development, Indigo will combine its theatre and film production in a new creative venture - Shakespeare Shorts.
Working with a resident dramaturge, we are seeking to create a series of social media optimised microfilms bringing Shakespearean monologues into a new forum, with guest directors, directors of photography, production designers, art directors and more in the devision and creation of each short.
